The only person that came into my life who ever suggested I write a book was my friend, Fernando, from Mexico. Call it fate or destiny, whatever, Fernando did end up in a book. And a book from me like he wanted to.

No one I know would ever have imagined that I would write a story, and a medical horror story, at that! And I never could have dreamed in my wildest imagination that so many people from all over the world would desperately be searching for something I would be able to help them with--all from my own past torture and experiences.

As my jacket cover states, I was born in Boston, Massachusetts. My parents decided to come to "" California when I was four years old. They settled on the east bay side of the San Francisco bay area. They loved the bay area as I still do. I spent my growing up summers in a vacation trailer living up at Lake Tahoe. My love for swimming and skiing was the result.

I have enjoyed a very normal life for years now doing all the things I love to do, including movies and even square dancing.

As you must already know, really and truly did save my life and bring me to a complete recovery. And yes, I was "" from both my levels and complexities of tinnitus and hyperacusis even though I had and still have perfectly normal hearing.

But hopefully someday, everyone will be aware and understand the suffering from these afflictions-- as a preventive, too!
