Lick Observatory is a multi-campus astronomical facility
atop Mt. Hamilton in northern California. Its mission is to provide UC faculty
and staff astronomers, as well as astronomy undergraduates, graduate students,
and postdoctoral scholars, with frequent and long-term access to world-class
observational facilities. The UC Berkeley Lick Observatory Operations Fund
supports the science operations, instrument development, student and
postgraduate training, and extensive public education/outreach efforts at Lick.
This fund is managed directly by Professor Alexei Filippenko in the Department
of Astronomy at UC Berkeley. To support Lick Observatory, you can make a
tax-deductible donation by check or securities. The UC Berkeley Foundation non-profit tax ID# is 94-6090626. Mary Ann will provide you detailed information on how to transfer stock to UC Berkeley Lick Observatory Operations Fund (number FN7185000)
