Where to eat near Woodside Road United Methodist Church, Redwood City

Do you like Mexican food?  Most days, a taco truck is in the church parking lot facing Woodside Road.  Tacos, burritos, tortas, quesadillas, and much more.  Fresh, tasty, quick and cheap.

There is an Italian place just three blocks away, on the opposite side of Woodside Road, northeast (away from the 280 freeway) from the church.
Villa Lucia's (pizza, pasta, Italian) 1726 Woodside Road, Redwood City

A nearby shopping center (called Woodside Plaza) has many places to eat.  Go northeast (away from the 280 freeway) from the church on Woodside Road and turn left at the first traffic light into the shopping center.  Half the shopping center is to your left (west side) and the other half is on the right (east) side of Massachusetts Ave.  There are also some banks, drug store, post office and Ross Dress for Less.

On the left:
     Redwood Grill - burgers, salads.
Breakers Cafe - pancakes, omelets and other breakfast food.  Open until 2:30 PM

On the right:
     Round Table Pizza
Yat Sing Chinese Woodside Plaza location
     Sushi Plus Japanese
Rack & Roll BBQ Shack / Old Port Lobster Shack (under one roof) BBQ, lobster rolls, fish and chips, seafood salads, fried seafood.  Plenty of tables indoors and outdoors.  Fast service.

Across Woodside Road from this shopping center (at the corner of San Carlos Avenue and Woodside Road, next to the Benjamin Moore paint store) is the excellent Woodside Deli (made-to-order sandwiches, mostly take-out, very limited seating.)  Parking in rear.  I recommend phoning an order in the morning so you don't need to wait (and wait) for your sandwiches

Further up Woodside Road (toward 101) are the usual fast-food joints and some sit-down restaurants
McDonalds (709 Woodside Road, corner of Nueva)
Jack in the Box (986 Woodside Road, corner of Kentfield)
KFC (659 Woodside Road, corner of Bonita).  very limited seating
Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen.  fried chicken, fish and chips, sandwiches (740 Woodside Road, between Oxford and Gordon)
5th Quarter Pizza  also burgers, sandwiches, salad bar, calzones) 976 Woodside Road, between Kentfield and Union
Thaibodia (Thai and Cambodian food) 910 Woodside Road (near Union)
Subway (fast sandwiches) 758 Woodside Road (between Oxford and Gordon)
Ohana Express burgers, teriyaki bowls, Hawaiian bowls, katsu chicken, fish and chips (just west of Hudson) 640 Woodside Road.  Usually plenty of seating.

2.4 miles south on Alameda de las Pulgas is a funky burger-and-beer joint called the Dutch Goose which is a local landmark.  It's at the northeast corner of Alameda de las Pulgas and Avy, kitty-corner from the gas station.    Tons of seating.
2.3 miles south on Alameda de las Pulgas is Lulu's Mexican.  Order at counter.  Indoor and outdoor seating.  3539 Alameda de las Pulgas, corner of Gordon.

1/2 mile north and 1/4 mile east of the church is a mini-shopping center with these places to eat:
Little Caesar's pizza 2193 Roosevelt Avenue
Oh Baby Sushi (and other Japanese food)  2139 Roosevelt Ave.  Closed between 3:00 and 4:30 PM.
Summit Cafe 2137 Roosevelt Ave.  (closes at 2:00 PM) Omelets, crepes, burgers, pancakes, eggs Benedict, salads, waffles, sandwiches, French toast, gourmet coffee and more
Prima Deli 2115 Roosevelt Ave.  Deli sandwiches.  Limited seating.

2 miles uphill (across I-280) on Woodside Road is a local landmark - Bucks, 3062 Woodside Rd, Woodside.  Outrageous decor, large menu including burgers, sandwiches, soups and salads, plus entrees at dinnertime.
In the same shopping center as Bucks is the Village Bakery with pricey upscale pizzas and salads.
