From 280 freeway southbound:  Exit Woodside Road.  At bottom of exit ramp, turn left to go downhill (northeast) on Woodside Road about one mile to the second traffic light (Alameda de las Pulgas).  Turn left on Alameda de las Pulgas.  The church parking lot is the first driveway on the right.

From 101 freeway:  Exit Woodside Road in Redwood City.  Take Woodside Road southwest about 3 miles and turn right on Alameda de las Pulgas.  (If you start going up a hill, you went too far on Woodside Road.)  The church parking lot is the first driveway on the right. 

Enter the church via the door facing the parking lot.  There is also a small overflow parking lot on Woodside Road at the back door to the church.

Where to eat near Woodside Road United Methodist Church, Redwood City

Do you like Mexican food?  Most days, a taco truck is in the church parking lot facing Woodside Road.  Tacos, burritos, tortas, quesadillas, and much more.  Fresh, tasty, quick and cheap.

There is an Italian place just three blocks away, on the opposite side of Woodside Road, northeast (away from the 280 freeway) from the church.

A shopping center (called Woodside Plaza) has many places to eat and is only 1/2 mile away.  Go northeast (away from the 280 freeway) from the church on Woodside Road and turn left at the first traffic light into the shopping center.  Half the shopping center is to your left (west side) and the other half is on the right (east) side of Massachusetts Ave.  There's also a supermarket here. 

On the left: 
     Redwood Grill - burgers, salads.
     Breakers Cafe - pancakes, omelets and other breakfast food.  Closes at 2:30 PM

On the right:
     Round Table Pizza  eat in, take out, or delivery
     Yat Sing Chinese Woodside Plaza location
     Sushi Plus Japanese
     Rack & Roll BBQ Shack / Old Port Lobster Shack (under one roof) BBQ, lobster rolls, fish and chips, seafood salads, fried seafood.  Plenty of tables indoors and outdoors.  Order at counter.  Fast service. 

Alas, the Woodside Deli is going out of business, so you will need to eat elsewhere. 

Further up Woodside Road (toward 101) are the usual fast-food joints and some sit-down restaurants

2.4 miles south on Alameda de las Pulgas is an old-fashioned burger-and-beer joint called the Dutch Goose which is a local landmark.  They also serve salads and sandwiches.  It's at the northeast corner of Alameda de las Pulgas and Avy, kitty-corner from the gas station.    Tons of seating.  Order at the counter.  Fast service. 

2.3 miles south on Alameda de las Pulgas is Lulu's Mexican.  Order at counter.  Indoor and outdoor seating.  Fast service.  3539 Alameda de las Pulgas, corner of Gordon. 

1/2 mile north and 1/4 mile east of the church is a mini-shopping center with these places to eat, plus a supermarket and CVS.
     Little Caesar's pizza 2193 Roosevelt Avenue.
     Oh Baby Sushi (and other Japanese food)  2139 Roosevelt Ave.  Closed between 3:00 and 4:30 PM.

2 miles uphill (across I-280) on Woodside Road is a local landmark - Bucks, 3062 Woodside Rd, Woodside.  Outrageous decor, large menu including burgers, sandwiches, soups and salads, plus entrees at dinnertime.  Can be crowded- call to check for table availability.
In the same shopping center as Bucks is the Village Bakery with pricey upscale pizzas and salads.  Call ahead to check for table availability.  Seating indoors or on outdoor patio.
