HOW TO DISABLE WINDOWS UPDATES (in Windows 8 or 10)
Disable them until Microsoft has
fixed this problem. While holding down the Windows key, tap the letter
R.
This will bring up the Run window. In the Run window, type services.msc
and then click on OK. In a few seconds, an alphabetical list of services
will appear. Scroll almost all the way to the bottom and locate Windows
Update. Double-click on it to open.
When the Windows Update Properties window opens, change the startup type to
Disabled. Click on Apply, then, OK, then close the Services window.
